The Social Enterprise Laboratory Award

Enabling
Dimensions was presented with the Social Enterprise Laboratory
Award, instituted by Digital Partners, a Seattle-based
non-profit organisation (now merged with Grameen Bank).
As part of the selection process, in 2002 Digital Partners
invited project proposals from across the globe on ICT-based
social initiatives. From the submissions, 10 project proposals
were selected. Each selected project was paired with a
prestigious buiness school and leading consultants to
help formulate a feasible business plan. From the 10 business
plans, four projects were finally selected for seed funding
from Hewlett Packard in May 2003. Students from Theseus
Business School, France worked with Enabling Dimensions
to develop one of the winning proposals for EnableAll.org:
Enabling Dimensions' initiative focusing on providing
'new skills for new economy' to youth with physical disabilites,
using ICT-based distance learning.

EnableAll.org was listed as one of the projects in Microsoft's 'Partners in Potential' publication. At the World Summit on the Internet Society (WSIS), Geneva, 2003, Microsoft brought out a publication, 'Partners in Potential' - "An abridged compilation of some of the innovative technology projects taking place around the world. Projects that have earned the respect of their colleagues and are making positive steps forward along the paths of basic computer literacy, IT skills training, information access and life-long learning".

EnableAll.org won a global competition for ICT-based social initiatives organised by the Swiss Development Corporation in 2003. EnableAll.org was one of the winners and was showcased at the WSIS, ICT4D Exhibition in Geneva, Dec 2003.
